High School U.S. History – Beth Howard
This class is designed for students in grades 9 – 12.
Using the text, AMERICAN HISTORY by Dr. James P. Stobaugh, students will explore the history of the United States examining the worldviews of philosophies and ideologies of the time. This course invites students to BE historians by assessing primary sources and theories of the times in order to see not just WHAT happened in our history, but WHY it happened. Thus, history becomes not just a dry, dusty memorization of facts, dates and events, but the story of real people making real decisions for real reasons. The course will be taught from a Biblical perspective setting forth the belief that all history is ultimately HIS (God’s) STORY.
