Discovering Design with Chemistry by Jay Wile is a high school text that gives students a rigorous foundation in chemistry, preparing them for college-level work. The text covers the following topics: nomenclature, significant figures, units, classification, molar calculations, stoichiometry, thermochemistry, thermodynamics, kinetics, acids and bases, redox reactions, solutions, atomic structure, Lewis structures, molecular geometry, gas laws, and equilibrium. The tutor will discuss the material covered at home and will assist the students in performing lab activities throughout the year. Formal lab reports will be required.
Prerequisite: Algebra I

This class will meet two days a week – Monday and Wednesday – 1:00 to 2:00
