Physics- Susan Matthews

Exploring Creation with Physics is a college-preparatory physics course that offers a detailed introduction to the methods and concepts of general physics. It provides the student with a strong background in units, measurement, one-dimensional and two-dimensional motion, Newton’s laws and their application, gravity, work and energy, momentum, periodic motion, waves, optics, electrostatics, electrodynamics, electrical circuits, and magnetism. The course includes approximately 30 hours of laboratory work, including study of velocity, acceleration, free fall, two-dimensional motion, torque, Hooke’s Law, periodic motion, the Law of Reflection. The lab work also includes making and using an electroscope, and determining whether a substance is diamagnetic, paramagnetic, or ferromagnetic.

Prerequisites: Must have completed Chemistry and Algebra 2 prior to taking this course
